Your Match Settings give you control over what you'd like to offer and how you'd like clients to find you. Within Match Settings, you'll find the Specialties tab—this is where you can define the categories and subcategories of care you provide.
Why Specialties Matter
When clients search for practitioners, they filter by the modalities and specialties they're looking for. By selecting your specialties thoughtfully, you create better matches—clients find you when you're genuinely a good fit for what they need.
Honoring Your Qualifications and Local Guidelines
As a practitioner on Rooted Vitality, it's meaningful to represent your services in a way that reflects your qualifications and training. Rooted Vitality is a platform that connects you with clients—you work as an independent practitioner and are responsible for complying with any licensing or regulatory requirements in your area. We suggest choosing specialties that feel authentic to the services you're qualified to provide, and we'll help connect you with clients who are looking for exactly what you offer.
Setting Up Your Specialties
From your Match Settings, navigate to the Specialties tab. You can select any number of care categories and their corresponding subcategories that feel right for your practice.
Choose Categories and Subcategories
Start with your primary modalities—acupuncture, herbal medicine, coaching, massage, or whatever you practice. Each category has subcategories you can explore to get more specific. For example, under acupuncture you might see fertility, pain management, or seasonal wellness. We suggest selecting all that genuinely reflect what you offer. The more specific you are, the better your connections tend to be.
Add Your Session Pricing
For each specialty you select, you can optionally display your per-session price or price range. We find that this helps clients understand what to expect and makes it easier for everyone to connect if your pricing feels aligned. If you prefer to discuss pricing during initial conversations, that works wonderfully too—just sharing upfront what clients might expect when they reach out.
Manage Your Specialties Anytime
After you've set up your specialties, you can turn each one on or off independently from the Match Settings page. This gives you flexibility—if you're taking a break from a particular modality or want to focus on specific areas, you can adjust without having to reconfigure everything. You'll also find a general matching toggle on the Match Status tab. When matching is active, you'll only appear in matches for the specialties you've marked as active. This puts you in complete control of what you're shown for.
